Full Job Description

Teachers To Go is looking for a teacher who will provide 1-to-1 private instruction in-person for a 17 year old boy at his home in Virginia Beach 23453 to help him complete high school and get his GED. This is a wonderful opportunity for the right teacher: a part-time position assisting one student Monday-Friday from 9am-1pm that pays $35/hour ($700/week). This is an immediate opportunity for the current school year.

The right teacher will have a sense of humor and be able to relate to the student in a way that is motivating. Looking for a teacher who is engaging, friendly and conversational, who can apply learning content and material to real life stories and situations in a way that is fun and interesting. Good organization skills and ability to monitor and assist with various subjects is also required.

Parent is open to collaborating with the teacher on curricula; mix and match, or remote enrollment may be possible. Subject matter expertise is likely not needed for all subjects, mainly general academic coaching and overall engagement for accountability, time management and encouragement.

Must have at least 2 years minimum classroom teaching experience, BA/BS with full-time professional experience teaching high school students is preferred. Must be comfortable assisting students with multiple subjects, study skills and time management.
