Full Job Description

Teachers To Go is looking for an early elementary (preK-3rd grade) teacher to teach two gifted children in-person at a home near Memorial & Voss in 77024. The job will require teaching all subjects for a boy in Kindergarten and a girl in pre-K (both are roughly one year ahead), using the parents' preferred curricula and organization system. This is a wonderful opportunity for the right teacher: a "full-time position with part-time hours" that pays $60/hour ($1260/week) plus a $3500/year health insurance stipend to teach M,W,F from 9am-3pm and Th from 11am-2pm. Continue through summer with additional hours, and some time off can be arranged in advance.

BA and minimum of 2 years self-contained in-person classroom teaching experience teaching one or more grades K-3rd is required. Must be detail oriented, some familiarity with classical education methods is preferred. Prior experience working with young gifted students is a plus, and prior experience working with Handwriting Without Tears is also a plus. Bilingual ability to speak and write Mandarin (traditional) is a plus, but not required. Must be willing to learn the parents' requested curricula and organization system (client will pay for reasonable onboarding time), and must be a team player willing to collaborate with the parent and one Mandarin language co-teacher.

The right teacher will be able to work with Christian-based Classical and other curricula that value a book-rich education emphasizing character and habit-formation along with the academics.

Looking for a teacher who is energetic, yet relaxed and calm (not rushed or anxious), who loves kids and values a love of learning. High-tech is not required, but must be tech-savvy enough to manage daily online tasks with Google Suite and learn parents' organization system. Must be a team player who can partner and work along with the students' Mandarin teacher and parent who will also continue to teach.
