Full Job Description

Looking for in-home teaching support for 1st grader with signs of dyslexia. Currently using BJU/Faith-based curriculum. Experienced elementary teacher to teach all academic subjects in-person (math, English, science, heritage studies, spelling).

Responsibilities include teaching and guiding the children to learn from parent-approved curricula (parent is open to collaborating with new teacher about curricula or continuing with what they have been using), reviewing topics and assignments, assisting students with work, projects, test prep, papers, research, documenting instructional time, assessing and filling in any learning gaps, and reacting and adopting education to each individual child.

The right teacher will be patient, kind & compassionate, energetic, positive, punctual, reliable and organized, and have good communication with both parents and children. Looking for a teacher who also gets excited about supplementing curricula with hands-on creative learning opportunities.

Summer's off and other time off can be arranged and discussed in advance.

Teacher candidates should have BA or BS and a minimum of three years of professional elementary classroom teaching experience in either private or public schools. Looking for a long-term relationship with the right teacher.
