TeachersToGo is looking for an experienced and qualified high school teacher/academic coach to provide customized private tutoring in-person for a twice exceptional boy in 9th grade at his home in Portland, OR 97210, three days/week Monday-Friday (2 hours each day to start) beginning any time from 10am to 3pm. This is a wonderful opportunity for the right teacher: a supplemental part-time position for $65/hour that is available immediately.
The student is very intelligent but twice exceptional with ADHD and mild depression/anxiety, so some special needs experience is helpful, although not required. Looking for a professional, experienced high school teacher to assist the student with his Global Village School remote curriculum and provide general academic coaching for homework help, time management, tutoring of subjects, etc. The teacher/academic coach will help teach curriculum, assign work, help with organizing, and prioritize planning and skills.
The right teacher candidate will be progressive (allowing for societal discussions), engaging, creative, positive and motivational. Teacher should be compassionate, patient, good at verbal communication, and able to relate well to teenagers without being condescending. Looking for a teacher who can expand on the remote curriculum and facilitate or create engaging hands-on activities related to the real world. Must be willing to collaborate with the parents.
